Layered Tech Sponsors WordPress Event

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hosting provider Layered Tech (www.layeredtech.com) announced on Wednesday that it will be involved as a sponsor in the WordCamp San Francisco (2009.sf.wordcamp.org) event to be held this Saturday at the Mission Bay Convention Center.

Organized by WordPress for users of the blogging software (www.wordpress.org) and its blog hosting service (www.wordpress.com), WordCamp is part of a series of events designed to provide users and developers an opportunity to “meet, mingle and share ideas on everything from marketing to technology,” according to the LayeredTech release.

Layered Tech says it sees sponsoring the event as an opportunity to support the growing web publishing community associated with the WordPress software. The company says it is a leading provider in the blog hosting niche – one of the top 10 blog hosts, as well as the provider of hosting services to WordPress itself.

The event will run from 8:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, until 8:00 p.m., and will feature appearances from Mozilla CEO John Lilly; Matt Cutts, head of Google’s Web spam team; Tim Ferriss, author of “4-Hour Workweek”; Internet personalities Dave Moyer and Chirs Pirillo; and WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg.

The program is meant to provide attendees with practical hands-on skills, as well as insight into trends that are shaping the web publishing industry today.

Other hosting providers sponsoring the event include MediaTemple (www.mediatemple.net), ServerBeach (www.serverbeach.com) and HostGator (www.hostgator.com).

The full program for the WordCamp San Francisco event is available on the event’s website.

WordCamp will also see the WordPress company celebrate its sixth anniversary with a party at the Pier 38 Automattic Lounge, also sponsored by Layered Tech, according to the event website.
