(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider Layered Technologies (www.layeredtech.com) announced on Thursday it has received a growth equity investment from a group of investors led by private equity investment firm Accel-KKR (www.accel-kkr.com).
Layered Tech’s two primary existing investors, Enhanced Equity Fund and Pangloss International, also participated.
The investment will be used to fund continued growth and expansion of Layered Tech’s managed services, cloud computing and virtualization product offerings, as well as to “further capitalize the business to support its existing customer base,” says the company.
Layered Tech provides managed dedicated hosting, on-demand virtualization and cloud computing and Web services. The company currently has eight top-tier data centers around the world.
Accel-KKR is a technology-focused private equity firm that has over $1 billion in assets under management.
The firm invests primarily in software and IT-enabled businesses well positioned for top-line and bottom-line growth.
