Layered Tech Hires New CIO

July 17, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — On-demand IT infrastructure provider Layered Tech (layeredtech.com) has appointed former FastServers (fastservers.net) chief information officer Terrance Bush as CIO to oversee research and development, as well as technology strategy for the organization.

Layered Tech CEO Jack Finlayson said the new CIO will lend ”his technology expertise and leadership experience, combined with the other new additions to our management team,” he said in a statement. Other recent staff appointments include CFO John Faulkner and CMO John Pozadzides.

Bush began his career at Chicago-based, managed hosting company FastServers.Net in 2000, where he held a number of management positions before taking becoming CIO in 2003. Prior to arriving at FastServers, Bush held senior positions with Fortune 500 companies, including AT&T and StockPoint (now a division of CBS MarketWatch), where he has amassed over nine years of system administration experience and more than five years in system engineering management.

“I am thrilled to lead the research and development team at Layered Tech,” said Bush. “It’s an exciting time at the company, as we put our energies into managed hosting and virtualization services, as well as concentrate on servicing the enterprise market.”

Layered Tech acquired FastServers.Net in April, causing a potentially tricky integration of the managed dedicated hosting expertise of FastServers.Net with Layered Tech’s leading virtualization and on-demand IT infrastructure solutions. Last month, WHIRtv talked with Finlayson at LT PACT 2008, Layered Tech’s annual conference, to discuss the company’s new virtualization and managed services and overall vision for the company.
