(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Real estate investment trust First Potomac Realty Trust (www.first-potomac.com) announced on Monday it has signed a new lease for about 52,000 square feet at its recently acquired Corporate Campus at Ashburn Center with data center operator Latisys (www.latisys.com).
The announcement follows Latisys’ recent completion of its first SAS 70 Type II audit for its Tier III data center in the Oak Brook, Illinois.
Latisys recently acquired Pryme Technologies, which had a full-building, 71,192-square-foot lease in Building C.
In addition to assuming the lease, Latisys took on an additional 51,905 square feet lease in Building B.
Both leases expire in May 2021. The Company is also in final lease negotiations with another tenant, which would bring the property to 100 percent leased.
Latisys acquired the property in December 2009 when it was 45 percent leased.
Corporate Campus at Ashburn Center is a 194,000-square-foot, three-building office park located approximately five miles north of Dulles International Airport.
According to its website, First Potomac Realty Trust owns, operates, develops and redevelops office parks, business parks and industrial properties in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and other major markets in Virginia and Maryland.
The company has about 12 million square feet, with approximately 20 percent of its revenues stemming from government contractors.
