Latest Open-Xchange Release Supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server, CentOS 5.5 and Debian 6

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Open-source software provider Open-Xchange (www.open-xchange.com) announced on Tuesday that it has made enhancements to its business-class email including improved usability, flexibility and mobile support.  

This announcement comes a week after Open-Xchange announced a partnership with web hosting provider Host Europe to provide webmail to more than 1.4 million email accounts. 

According to the press release, Open-Xchange now has a “space-saving compact panel” for tablet users.

Open-Xchange says its webmail start page has been redesigned to give users options to select which modules to display. Setting up email filters is easier now, according to the company.

“Our mission is to create the world‘s best webmail and groupware that is intuitive and easy-to-use, as well as accessible when mobile,” Rafael Laguna, CEO, Open-Xchange said in a statement. “We continue to make strides with these usability enhancements that let users set up their Open-Xchange the way they want, while making it a central place to aggregate other email accounts and their social network contact information.”

Open-Xchange has released a new preview of its Mobile Web App enabling users to access their data on Open-Xchange server 6. Open-Xchange says its web app offers online and offline access to appointments, contacts and emails. The app is optimized for low bandwidth connections.

Open-Xchange has added support in Italian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese, and also now supports Debian 6, CentOS 5.5, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.

The Social OX feature in Open-Xchange enables users to merge contact information with Linkedin and Facebook.
