According to KEMP’s Tuesday announcement, LM-2000 is available for the price of $1,590, which includes first-year support. LM-2000 marks a significant entry point for companies that have held off purchasing a load balancer because of price. What can be though of as the little brother of KEMP’s LoadMaster 2500, the latest offering provides availability and performance assurance for nearly a quarter of the price.

The LM-2000 removes the price barrier and offers the same core features and support as KEMP’s higher-end products such as integrated SSL acceleration, caching, compression and Layer 7 functionality. It optimizes web infrastructure, offering 24/7 availability, high-performance, flexible scalability, and secure operations, and streamlines IT costs. Additionally, the LoadMaster optimizes and accelerates user access to diverse servers, content and transaction-based systems to improve customer satisfaction. The LM-2000 also gives IT administrators greater control to easily adapt to network changes by providing a resource optimization layer in front of applications and servers.
In KEMP’s continued efforts to make load balancing more available and affordable to small and medium-sized businesses, KEMP unveiled a virtual load balancing solution last month that managed hosts and other service providers can resell to their customers starting at $99 per license per month.
