KEMP Technologies Unveils Latest Load Balancing Solution

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Application delivery and load balancing technology developer KEMP Technologies (www.kemptechnologies.com) has announced its latest server load balancer, LoadMaster 2000, which it claims to be the most affordable, feature-rich load balancer in the industry.

According to KEMP’s Tuesday announcement, LM-2000 is available for the price of $1,590, which includes first-year support. It offers high-performance features optimized for IT web and application infrastructure, and intelligently and efficiently distributes user traffic among web and application servers to ensure users gain the best experience possible.

LM-2000 marks a significant entry point for companies that have held off purchasing a load balancer because of price. What can be though of as the little brother of KEMP’s LoadMaster 2500, the latest offering provides availability and performance assurance for nearly a quarter of the price.

“Current economic conditions have caused smaller businesses to ignore the hazards associated with website outages and loss of revenue,” KEMP Technologies chief executive officer Kevin Mahon said in as a statement. “Lowering the price on the LoadMaster 2000 reflects our commitment to help business get better use of their networks and applications with an obvious quicker return on investment. It wasn’t easy, but we are able to deliver an affordable load balancer without compromising on the feature set, performance or support.”

The LM-2000 removes the price barrier and offers the same core features and support as KEMP’s higher-end products such as integrated SSL acceleration, caching, compression and Layer 7 functionality. It optimizes web infrastructure, offering 24/7 availability, high-performance, flexible scalability, and secure operations, and streamlines IT costs. Additionally, the LoadMaster optimizes and accelerates user access to diverse servers, content and transaction-based systems to improve customer satisfaction. The LM-2000 also gives IT administrators greater control to easily adapt to network changes by providing a resource optimization layer in front of applications and servers.

In KEMP’s continued efforts to make load balancing more available and affordable to small and medium-sized businesses, KEMP unveiled a virtual load balancing solution last month that managed hosts and other service providers can resell to their customers starting at $99 per license per month.
