(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Application delivery optimization company KEMP Technologies (www.kemptechnologies.com) announced on Tuesday it is now offering newest members to its family of affordable load balancers.
The announcement follows the recent launch of KEMP’s load balancing applications, the LoadMaster DR and Virtual LoadMaster.
The LoadMaster 2600 and the LoadMaster 3600 are both server load balancing, content switching appliances featuring integrated ASIC-based SSL acceleration.
The new platforms, which will replace the LM 2500 and 3500 models, provide application delivery optimization, high availability and fault tolerance, improving performance for web-enabled applications.
According to the press release, the new load balancing roviding advanced features and high performance at a much lower price point than other competing offering.
The LoadMaster 2600 features 4 GbE ports and delivers improved performance to address increased traffic loads.
The 2600 now features a 25-percent improvement for Layer-7 throughput at 1.5Gbps, as well as improved SSL transactions per second at 2,000 TPS.
The 8-GbE port LoadMaster 3600 is a new mid-range platform that offers improved layer 4 and layer 7 throughput of 26 percent to 3.4 Gbps and 25 percent to 2.9 Gbps, respectively.
SSL processing performance on the new LM3600 has been increased to 5,000 TPS, as well as support for up to 1,000 virtual and real servers and 100,000 L7 concurrent connections or two million L4 concurrent transactions.
Both models incorporate application acceleration features such as caching, compression, and SSL offloading, as well as provide greater performance for 2,048-bit length keys.
This increase in SSL capability offers users improved performance and quicker response time for encrypted applications such as e-commerce.
As with all KEMP LoadMaster products, the two new models distribute user traffic among servers to ensure the best possible user experience and high availability for web and business applications.
Additionally, all KEMP LoadMaster models are now optimized for Microsoft Exchange 2010, Lync, SharePoint, and Terminal Services.
“KEMP Technologies continues to listen to our customers to meet their server load balancing needs,” says Peter Melerud, co-founder and VP of product management of KEMP Technologies. “The LoadMaster 2600 and 3600 platforms are the next step in the evolution of the LoadMaster as customers now require improved performance in order to keep up with increased traffic loads. In the tradition of our other LoadMaster products, KEMP continues to offer products that are high performing and easy to use and deploy—at price points that customers demand.”
The new 2600 and 3600 are currently priced at $6,990 and $9,890, respectively including first-year support.
