Jupitermedia Acquires Trade Shows

February 2, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Jupitermedia (jupitermedia.com) announced on Friday that it has acquired the remaining 50.1 percent interest in the two annual ISPCON trade shows as well as 100 percent of the INBOX trade show from The Golden GroupĀ (thegoldengroup.net).

Jupitermedia now owns 100 percent of these properties, up from the 49.9 percent interest in ISPCON held prior to the transaction. The Golden Group founder Jon Price and his staff are now employees of Jupitermedia, with Price being named general manager of Jupitermedia’sĀ  events division.

Launched in 1977, ISPCON (ispcon.com) is the largest trade show in North America related to the ISP and related industries. The INBOX trade show, launched in 2004 (inboxevent.com), focuses on the technology aspect of the email communications industry.

“We are excited to be able to consolidate ownership of the valuable ISPCON franchise,” says Alan Meckler, chairman and CEO of Jupitermedia. “In addition to gaining these important events which are complementary to our online media properties focused on the ISP industry, this transaction brings us a terrific trade show team that will help grow our various existing and new trade shows.”
