(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – IT network services provider Juniper Networks (www.juniper.net) announced on Friday that its SRX Series Services Gateways have been selected by Dell to help secure its cloud data center.
This news comes on the heels of Juniper Networks appointments in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the press release, the announcement was made at Dell World 2011 customer event in Austin.
“As organizations continue to move sensitive data and workloads to the cloud, they require a robust security solution to address these specialized requirements,” Michael Vickery, vice president, strategic alliances, Juniper Networks said in a statement. “Dell’s deployment of Juniper’s SRX Series will protect sensitive customer data and deliver the security scale required in cloud computing environments.”
Dell says it will leverage Juniper Networks’ SRX technology to provide security for customers in its data center. According to Juniper Networks’ website, the SRX Series Services Gateways have high port-density, advanced security, and flexible connectivity into a single managed platform support data center operations.
“Dell’s enterprise strategy is based on offering customers an open, capable and affordable architecture to provide them with the flexibility to address IT needs today and in the future,” said Joyce Mullen, vice president, Global Alliances, Dell. “In this data center, Dell is leveraging Juniper Networks’ security experience to help protect our customers looking to move to the cloud — whether public or private.”
According to the press release, Dell World 2011 brings customers from public organizations and mid-to-large enterprises together to share best practices, participate in discussions and network.
