Cloud platform provider Jelastic announced on Monday it has expanded its platform as a service offering to Finland through a partnership with hosting provider Planeetta Internet.

This latest partnership expands Jelastic’s reach into yet another global market via a local hosting provider.

The PaaS offering is hosted in the US with ServInt, in Russia with Rusonyx, in Germany with dogado, in the UK and Ireland with Layershift, in Japan with Tsukaeru, in Brazil with Websolute, and in Sweden with Elastx, which Jelastic launched in public beta last week.

Jelastic is the first PaaS offering that can run any Java or PHP application without lock-in or code changes, according to the press release.

As a result, there is no need to write to specific APIs and perform manual installation or configuration.

“Finland has one of the most vital development and start-up scenes in Europe,” said Jelastic COO Dmitry Sotnikov. “We are extremely pleased with the results of the Jelastic beta that Planeetta has been offering in the country. And we’re delighted that now Jelastic is fully available for commercial use in the Finnish market. Planeetta is one of the most advanced hosting companies in the country, and we are proud to have them offer Jelastic in Finland.”

Jelastic enables users to set up a cloud environment in seconds, making all major software stacks immediately available.

The platform’s one-click deployment and auto-scaling features enables users to get started quickly, and provides developers with all major Java software stacks, including Tomcat, GlassFish, and Jetty application servers, as well as with SQL and NoSQL.

Using Jelastic, developers are able to switch between any PHP versions, access their configuration files and change their settings.

Additionally, developers can select either Apache or NGINX as their application server, choose from key PHP extensions, and easily add more modules.

Last month, Jelastic began supporting all PHP applications, as well as the Java apps it already runs.
