JBoss Launches Open Source Products
March 29, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Open Source company JBoss (jboss.com) announced on Wednesday it has introduced two open source projects designed to further strengthen the open source platform JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite. The new technologies JBoss Messaging and JBoss Web Server, expand on the Open Source provider reach into the high-end market.
Currently, JEMS is already deployed in hundreds of intensive, high-end transactional environments, including financial hubs, trading exchanges and e-commerce companies. These recent advances in high-performance technologies will help to accelerate JEMS further into the top end of the market.
JBoss Messaging provides an open source and standards-based messaging platform, bringing enterprise-class messaging to the mass market. Meanwhile, JBoss Web brings high-performance Web server capabilities to Apache Tomcat and JBoss Application Server users.
“JBoss Messaging and JBoss Web signify another important milestone in JBossÂ’ technology vision,” says Shaun Connolly, VP of product management for JBoss. “These projects expand and enhance the JEMS stack for our high-end customers while maintaining the simplicity and modularity that have established JEMS as the leading open source platform for SOA.”
