(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Italian Internet service provider Libero announced on Friday that it has launched its public cloud based on Joyent’s SmartDataCenter cloud platform.
This news comes a few months after Joyent launched its revamped public cloud platform.
According to the press release, the public cloud offering will offer businesses and developers access to real time infrastructure resources with a pay-as-you-go pricing model.
“Libero wishes to serve clients with any type of cloud computing need,” Antonio Converti, CEO of Libero said in a statement. “Our service also excels at providing highly scalable, performant and efficient computing resources on a temporary basis, such as for massive data analysis, research and development projects, or peek data processing times at month’s end.”
Librero says its public cloud based on SmartDataCenter will provide users with Joyent Cloud Analytics so businesses can identify and fix problems in their infrastructure before having to spend money in engineering and support costs.
“Our relationship combines the strength of Libero’s IT and online service capabilities with Joyent’s proven high value cloud computing infrastructure,” Philippe Weppe, president of EMEA for Joyent said in a statement. “Customers will benefit greatly from the efficiency, flexibility and quality of the Libero cloud.”
Libero says it chose the PowerEdge R710 servers for its public cloud “to maximize performance and efficiencies.”
“Our history in powering most of the world’s leading public clouds gives Dell deep expertise in hyperscale infrastructure requirements,” Steve Cumings, executive director of marketing, Dell DCS said in a statement. “Once again the combined strength of Dell infrastructure and Joyent software solutions delivers a world-class customer solution, supporting Libero’s delivery of Italy’s largest on-demand public cloud.”
