(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT industry events organizer Plum Communications announced on Wednesday it is hosting the IT industry conference and exhibition, IT360 (www.it360.ca), held on April 8 at the south building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto.
Since its launch in 2003 under the name of Real World Linux, then being subsequently renamed to IT360 in 2007, the exhibition and conference has become a major event for the IT industry.
IT360 2008 was held as a three day event, focusing on unified communications, IT green, virtualization, security, open source, VoIP, Web 2.0, enterprise, and data management. The event attracted over 1,500 attendees.
This year, the event has been condensed to one day, and will feature a keynote presentation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. by former hacker, Michael Calce, aka Mafiaboy.
The event will focus on unified communications/VoIP/call centers, security/risk/threats, and data centers/cloud computing/virtualization/storage.
In his presentation, “Tells How He Cracked the Internet any Why it is Still Broken”, Calce will describe the history of hacking and how it has helped make the Internet a breeding ground for criminal activities.
The event’s second keynote, “Trust and Credibility: Who Is Influencing IT Purchase Decisions?” will be held 12:30 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. The presentation will be delivered by Tannis Baldock, vice president of technology communications practice at Hill & Knowlton Canada.
The conference will include a day’s worth of educational sessions and tutorials, spanning the topics of security, unified communications/VoIP, data centers, IT business, astricsk and open telephony, and senior/CIO level agenda.
The exhibitor’s hall will be opened throughout the day from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
Exhibitors will include Dell canada, D-Link Networks, EMC, Fortinet, HP Canada, Imperva, Kaspersky Lab, Linux Professional Institute, MX Lofic, Neutral Data Centers, Server Technology, Websense, and Zeus Technology.
