(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — CIBER (www.ciber.com) announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement with web hosting provider Savvis (www.savvis.com) to extend its data center and networking capacity.

Also this week, Savvis announced its schedule of data center expansions and openings for 2011, including two new facilities in Seattle and New Jersey.

Headquartered in Colorado, CIBER is a global IT consulting and outsourcing company with more than 8,500 employees, operating in 19 countries.

According to the press release, its services include application development and management, ERP implementation, change management, project management, systems integration, infrastructure management and end-user computing, as well as strategic business and technology consulting.

“CIBER was searching for a global partner who specialized in cloud computing infrastructure and data center management with many facilities around the world,” Cynthia Boucher, senior vice president and general manager of CIBER’s IT outsourcing division said in a statement. “As a Gartner Magic Quadrant market leader for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service and Web Hosting, Savvis has the reputation and capacity that will support CIBER’s growth in this market. And, with CenturyLink’s recently announced acquisition of Savvis, CIBER will also be able to leverage a significant worldwide MPLS and advanced fiber network linking Savvis’ data centers.”

Recently acquired by CenturyLink, Savvis combined infrastructure covers 45 countries and 1.9 million square feet of raised floor space.

“Savvis provides enterprise-class infrastructure services for CIBER to deliver cloud-based solutions to the market,” Jaywant Rao, vice president of global alliances for Savvis said in a statement. “CIBER is providing high business value to its clients through practical and innovative approaches to meeting IT challenges. We are excited to partner with CIBER as an integral part of the Savvis Alliances Program.”

CIBER says the deal will combine service and expertise from CIBER and infrastructure and network from Savvis and CenturyLink for clients to benefit from an end-to-end solution that is scalable to their needs.

Tony Ferrigno, VP of global sales and solutions for the IT outsourcing division at CIBER says this agreement will ensure that it has “the entire IT stack covered from bottom to top.”
