Israeli Telco Bezeq International Expands Colo Agreement with Interxion at Frankfurt Facility

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Bezeq International (www.bezeqint.net), a major international Internet and telecommunications provider based in Israel, has expanded its colocation agreement with European carrier-neutral data center operator Interxion (www.interxion.com), taking space at an Interxion facility in Frankfurt, Germany.

According to its Monday announcement, the new agreement significantly expands the long-standing relationship between the companies. Driven by International’s customers’ growing demand for a range of international hosting and data services, Bezeq expanded its infrastructure into Interxion’s FRA 5 data center.

Bezeq International took space in Interxion’s FRA 3 facility in 2006 to deal with its European traffic, as well as a base for provisioning and expanding its international services. Since then, the companies have forged a strong working relationship, and Bezeq successfully developed a broad portfolio of telecom solutions as well as high-end network and security services for multinationals.

“We have developed an excellent working partnership with Interxion, and it was a natural next step to expand our European capacity with them as the Interxion facility became a core part of our backbone,” Bezeq International professional services operations director Benny Pinhas said in a statement. “Our relationship with Interxion creates value for our customers and generates revenue for us. We have other providers in Europe, but Interxion is far and away the most important to our business model.”

Interxion’s five interconnected Frankfurt data centers provide highly reliable infrastructure and direct access to more than 70 carriers and 80 ISPs – one of Europe’s the highest carrier and network provider densities. Last year, international Internet exchange DE-CIX (www.de-cix.net) extended its infrastructure into FRA 5, strengthening its position as one of the most important Internet exchanges for Central and Eastern Europe and the largest Internet exchange worldwide for data throughput.

Interxion’s secure, high-availability and connected infrastructure also features up to 2N power backup and redundant cooling, as well as a wide range of optional monitoring and maintenance services and turnkey managed services.

Interxion Germany managing director Peter Knapp said Interxion’s relationship with Bezeq International is a good illustration of the value such a partnership can add for ambitious global service providers. “As Bezeq continues to grow, we look forward to continuing to work with them to provide an industry leading pan European connectivity solution to meet their needs.”
