i/o Selects Qwest for Phoenix ONE Facility

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center solutions provider i/o Data Centers (www.iodatacenters.com) announced on Thursday it has selected Qwest Communications International (www.qwest.com) as one of its Internet carrier providers for its new “Phoenix ONE” data center.

The 530,000 square foot carrier-neutral data center is located on a 31-acre campus in central Phoenix.

The data center site is next to one of the largest joint fiber trenches in the country with several bandwidth providers, including Qwest, offering direct Internet connections.

Phoenix ONE will be a TeraPoP Layer 3 site, allowing customers to connect to the Internet with speeds up to 10Gbps.

Last month, data center raised flooring solutions provider Tate signed a deal with i/o Data Centers to install 460,000 square feet of raised access flooring for the Phoenix ONE data center.

“It is vital that we offer our clients access to the best Internet service providers and Qwest helps us meet those requirements,” says Anthony Wanger, i/o Data Centers president and founder.

Qwest Business provides a portfolio of data and voice networking communications solutions to enterprises, government agencies and educational institutions of all sizes.

The company’s network spans the entire continental United States, and according to the press release, offers “one of the largest fiber footprints in the US, capable of supporting 40Gbps data transmission rates.”

Arizona-based i/o Data Centers provides a range of enterprise data center solutions, including colocation cabinets, colocation cages, data center suites and containerized data center solutions.
