i/o Data Centers to Sponsor FBR Open Tournament

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator i/o Data Centers (www.iodatacenters.com) announced on Friday it has signed a one-year agreement to sponsor the 2010 FBR Open (www.phoenixopen.com) professional golf tournament.

i/o Data Centers will become the official sponsor of the i/o Data Centers Pro-Am, to be played February 22, 2010 on the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course in Phoenix, title sponsor of the i/o Data Centers Corporate Village and sponsor the i/o Data Centers Interactive Teaching Center, located in Corporate Village.

The company will also be the official data center provider of the FBR Open.

A portion of i/o’s sponsorship dollars will be donated to Phoenix Children’s Hospital on behalf of The Thunderbirds and i/o Data Centers.

“i/o Data Centers is pleased to work with the Thunderbirds as they host this renowned event and looks forward to raising funds for Phoenix Children’s Hospital,” says i/o Data Centers CEO George Slessman. “We felt this was a unique opportunity to contribute to the community and be a part of one of the PGA Tour’s greatest venues.”

The FBR Open is the one of the most popular golf tournaments in the world and has raised more than $65.9 million for charities, with more than $37.9 million of these proceeds raised in the last six years alone.

As one of the most unique stops on the PGA TOUR, the 2010 FBR Open will be played February 22 through 28.

The event will mark the 75th playing of the event, and the seventh as the FBR Open, making it one of the five oldest events on the PGA Tour.

i/o recently completed the SAS 70 Type II audit at its Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona based data centers.
