(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator i/o Data Centers (www.iodatacenters.com) announced on Tuesday it has completed the SAS 70 Type II audit at its Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona based data centers.
The news follows i/o Data Center’s announcement last month that it has begun construction on the second phase of its flagship facility, Phoenix One.
Conducted by Deloitte & Touche, the audit confirms that i/o Data Centers’ controls have been suitably designed and tested to meet the needs of its customers.
The widely recognized Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for service providers who are looking to prove a high level of control effectiveness to independent auditors.
The audit allows service organizations to disclose their control activities and processes to their customers and their customers’ auditors in a reporting format.
The SAS 70 Type II audit proves that i/o Data Centers delivers reliable and secure operating environments with the proper controls for conducting high availability data center operations.
Other companies to recently complete SAS 70 Type II Audits include DataSite Orlando, New York Internet Company, REDPLAID Managed Hosting, Host.net and Switch and Data.
“We’re pleased to have achieved SAS 70 Type II Certification,” says Bill Slessman, chief operating officer for i/o Data Centers. “Having an independent audit affirm the reliability of our data center operations is important for our customers and gives them the peace of mind that their data center adheres to strict quality and operational standards.”
