(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet infrastructure investment firm DH Capital (www.dhcapital.com) announced on Wednesday that it has closed data center operator DBT-DATA’s purchase of a data center in Ashburn, Virginia and the leasing of this property to RagingWire (www.ragingwire.com).

RagingWire announced its expansion into Northern Virginia at the beginning of May, adding 140,000 square feet to its data center footprint that now touches both coasts.

This announcement comes a week after web hosting provider Datapipe secured $176 million in combined equity and credit financing under the financial advisement of DH Capital.

According to the press release, DH Capital was the exclusive financial advisor to DBT-DATA (www.dbtdata.com) in this transaction, arranging the financing and negotiating the terms of the RagingWire lease.

“With strong demand for capacity, Northern Virginia remains among the strongest data center markets in the country,” Peter Hopper, CEO of DH Capital said in a statement. “DBT-DATA’s facility is located near all of the major data centers in the area.  We are pleased we were able to assist the developer in financing the project and attracting a high quality tenant.”

“DH Capital’s extensive experience and strong relationships with most of the major data center operators allowed us to close this transaction quickly and efficiently,” David Tolson, managing partner of DBT-DATA stated. “DH Capital brought creativity and flexibility to the financing and attracted the right tenant to the property.”

DH Capital says the lease was designed to address both parties long term needs.

RagingWire says it was looking for a facility in the Washington, D.C. area, and the site already had access to more than 18 megawatts of power, according to Yatish Mishra, president and CEO of RagingWire.
