June 18, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — European data center operator and managed services provider Interxion (interxion.com) announced on Friday that it has upgraded its data backup and restore infrastructure. All components of the Secure Data Service are fully redundant, including the multihomed IP-transit, and the storage vault, which is replicated to a secondary data center in a different country 300 km away from the primary data center.
Interxion serves over 450 businesses and has a reseller network with over 30 active resellers in 10 European countries. Customer backups range from a few gigabytes, to multiple terabytes of data. Data backups are carried out in real-time over the Internet with 128-bit encryption to a highly secure vault at Interxion’s data center, ensuring complete security of data and applications.
Replication of data to a secondary site was always available, but now Interxion has made all components of the service redundant, including IP-transit, firewalls, DB-servers, application servers and data storage devices. All equipment is placed in Interxion secure data centers and is being monitored round the clock.
“Interxion Secure Data Service is the most advanced and secure data backup service available today,” says Anthony Foy, group managing director of Interxion. “We are fully committed to help our customers protect their mission critical data and applications and instantly restore it when required.”
