Interxion To Expand Copenhagen Data Center

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — European carrier-neutral data center operator Interxion (www.interxion.com) is expanding the capacity of its Copenhagen, Denmark data center in order to meet growing customer demand for high-power-density colocation infrastructure.

According to Interxion’s Tuesday announcement, the new 1,000 square meter (3,280 square foot) space will be ready for customers this month, and will provide access to the data center’s 10 megawatt power supply and exceptionally high-density power configurations of up to 17.5 kW per cabinet.

“We have expanded our capacity while maintaining and improving an uncompromising focus on service quality and data center security,” Interxion Denmark managing director Peder Bank said in a statement. “A major part of our growth comes from system integrators and enterprises that have chosen us for our carrier and vendor neutrality and our constant focus on customer satisfaction.”

Interxion has been grown about 50 per cent year on year in Denmark, and has recently achieved ISO 27001 certification for its information security management systems, as well as earning the highest rating for IT security in an independent report from auditors KPMG (www.kpmg.com).

Headquartered in the Netherlands, Interxion serves customers from 24 carrier-neutral data centers located in 13 cities across Europe.

The WHIR recently posted an email interview with Interxion data center operator group managing director Anthony Foy in which he describes the company’s take on cloud computing.
