Interxion Appoints Frederik Dewulf Belgian Managing Director

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — European carrier-neutral data center operator Interxion (www.interxion.com) has appointed Frederik Dewulf as managing director of Interxion Belgium, bringing a wealth of management, sales and financial expertise to Interxion.

Dewulf has held senior, international management positions in France Telecom, Verizon and ACN, where he developed extensive experience in managing complex customer environments, capital-intensive projects and positioning companies for accelerated growth, according to Interxion’s Thursday announcement.

“Frederik’s appointment further strengthens our Belgium management team as strong demand for carrier-neutral colocation continues unabated in Belgium as in Interxion’s ten other markets,” Interxion Group managing director Anthony Foy said in a statement. “With his 15 years’ experience leading business development and his strong commercial background, he is the perfect candidate to drive the business to even greater successes.”

Dewulf said he looks forward to being a part of the continued growth of Interxion Belgium. “Despite the current economic environment, Interxion continues to invest in building out its European footprint,” he said in a statement.

Dewulf is the latest managing director appointment for Interxion, which operates 25 carrier-neutral data centers across 13 European cities. In June, Interxion bolstered its management team when it named a new managing director for Switzerland.

A recent study from IDC (commissioned by Interxion) showed that the European data center market will see massive growth over the next four years. IDC projects that the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark and France data center market revenue, which saw revenue of $1,088 million in 2008, will reach $3,013 million by 2013.
