Web hosting software provider InterWorx announced on Thursday it is offering a public beta for the upcoming release of InterWorx Web Hosting Control Panel 5.0, which is the first major update since Version 4.11.4. InterWorx has also launched a new community section on its website.

InterWorx recently partnered with Future Hosting to provide customers with immediate access to InterWorx’s web-based control panel for instant server clustering.

The InterWorx Web Hosting Control Panel is a comprehensive web hosting and Linux server management system that enables both system administrators and web hosting clients to take control of their servers.

The InterWorx Control Panel provides server administrators with the “flexibility, information, and control they need to provide a highly scalable, responsive, and reliable hosting environment to their clients,” according to the press release.

Release 4.11.4 offers several new features and minor fixes to improve the scope and efficiency of development and pre-release testing. For development, InterWorx is moving to a tiered repository model with stable, release, release-candidate, and beta repositories.

Changes have also been made to the email account data quotas, allowing quotas to be set higher than the previous limit of 2GB.

The company has also made many fixes, including to private IP detection features and archive extraction in the file manager.

The 4.11.4 release will also enable users to opt-in to the public beta for InterWorx 5, which will see major feature additions including IPv6 compatibility.

Beta testers of InterWorx 5.0 will have a first opportunity to view the control panel’s newest theme.

InterWorx says it is continuing to make improvements to its website, adding a new community section to promote greater participation and communication between InterWorx users and its developers.

The community section will also feature a new blog, where InterWorx developers, sysadmins, and technical writers will publish content about the hosting industry.

“We’ve had in incredibly strong start to 2013. Since the creation of our new website last year, we’ve been working hard to prepare an absolutely beautiful release with InterWorx 5.0 that we know our clients are going to love,” said Paul Oehler, CTO of InterWorx. “But to be certain, we’re aiming to re-engage our loyal fans with a brand new community section of our web site. We’re seeking a much more intimate level of engagement with our fantastic community of hosting minds, so that we can continue to make InterWorx the best web hosting software that it can be.”
