April 19, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internap (internap.com), a provider of route control software, announced on Monday that it had completed private network access point deployment to Equinix (equinix.com) data center facilities in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. Equinix will also provide field support for the private network access points in addition to local provisioning of access circuits and language translation to Internap’s US network operations centers.
“We are extremely pleased with the speed with which we’ve been able to bring these centers online,” says Greg Peters, president and chief executive officer of Internap. “This effort represents a significant milestone for Internap, as it is the first international expansion as a company since launching the Tokyo P-NAP some four years ago. With this deployment, Internap greatly broadens its presence in this rapidly growing part of the world. And we significantly expand the capabilities that we can offer to US businesses with operations in the region.”
Internap says an important benefit of the deployment to Equinix’s Internet Business Exchange centers is access to all of the carriers operating within the hub.
The deployments in the Asia-pacific bring the total number of Internap’s service points to 37.
