Hibernia Atlantic's global network map.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — TransAtlantic submarine cable provider Hibernia Atlantic (www.hiberniaatlantic.com) announced on Wednesday that Internap Network Services (www.internap.com) has added the carrier to its diverse network of backbone providers.
The announcement comes on the heels of Internap’s recent expansion of its footprint to offer its performance IP services at a Switch and Data facility in North New Jersey.
By adding Hibernia Atlantic, Internap further enhances its connectivity between the US, Europe and Canada.
This expansion of its capacity to its international backbone is part of its overall strategy of investing in its core Performance IP services.
Internap’s patented routing technology chooses the best path for content delivery, offering their customers reliability and performance guarantees.
By adding Hibernia to the “best-path” options available within this architecture, Internap’s private network backbone solution will lessen the chance of any failures in the event that more than one of its other providers suffer simultaneous outages.
“Internap is always looking for ways to build in redundancy and reliability while reducing costs,” says Eric Cooney, president and CEO of Internap. “Hibernia Atlantic’s security, diversity and flexibility met our requirements for inclusion as part of our network.”
Earlier this month, Hibernia Atlantic selected dark fiber optic networks provider Sunesys to further expand its global financial network into its 1400 Federal data center in Carteret, New Jersey.
