UPDATE 9/4, 10: 30 am ET: Intermedia CEO Phil Koen posted an update and apology last night.
Intermedia customers continue to experience issues accessing websites and email on Tuesday morning, according to a flurry of Tweets directed at the email provider.
Intermedia has not provided any detail on Twitter or Facebook about the issue, only posting a single Tweet tagging itself (@intermedia_net) at 10:30 am that said: “addressing network issue impacting some customers.Anticipate resolution soon. Apologize for impact. Will update ASAP.”
The issues come a few days after Intermedia posted a blog post about a network issue on Wednesday night that impacted “the communications capacity” in its support centers and other services. It is unclear if the issue customers are reporting on Tuesday is related.
On Tuesday, Intermedia users on Twitter said they are unable to get through to Intermedia via its phone support line, and that the support page, when it is available, said “some users are experiencing mail delivery delays.”
Outages can be forgivable when proper communication is provided. Customers rely on email and websites to run their businesses, and when the services they pay for don’t work, and they don’t receive a prompt explanation about why, it can do a lot of harm to a web hosting brand.
The WHIR has reached out to an Intermedia spokesperson for comment and will update the post once we hear back.
