Cloud services provider Intermedia announced on Monday at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference that it has launched its beta for the new not-yet-released version of Microsoft Exchange.

In addition to the beta release, Intermedia has launched Windows Mobile apps for its HostPilot control panel and partner portal, which are already supported on iOS and Android devices. Windows Mobile 8 support will follow, according to the press release.

The announcements come as Intermedia has experienced a 40 percent year-over-year growth of its Exchange user base, which it says is driven by its channel as well as the adoption of its Office in the Cloud offering that combines Exchange, Lync and SharePoint with Intermedia’s services for backup, mobility, security, voice and more.

“There are roughly 5,000 hosted Exchange providers worldwide who are buying licenses from Microsoft, who are buying infrastructure, managing their own servers, having to worry about upgrades and integrating their own technologies and support,” Mike Gold, Intermedia president says in an interview with the WHIR.

“We’ve announced a promotion to make it easy for those providers to move their on-premise Exchange business to Intermedia’s private label program, sell it under their own brand, provide the same level of support that they’ve always provided, but use Intermedia as a partner. The economics are substantially better for most of those Exchange providers,” Gold says.

Exchange hosts can learn more about the promotion by calling 1-800-379-7729, option 6, or stop by Intermedia’s booth 1623 at Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. Web hosts can also learn more about its Exchange beta program by visiting its booth or its website, Gold says.

Intermedia says it was the first company to offer hosted Exchange back in 2000, the first to market with Exchange 2003, 2007 and 2010, and the first to offer private labeled hosted Exchange. Now, it is one of ten Microsoft partners to offer the Exchange 15 beta.

Intermedia was also the first provider to offer direct Office 365 billing to its customers and partners, where they could manage and provision Office 365 from the HostPilot control panel. On Monday, Microsoft announced at its partner conference that partners can now bill directly for Office 365, enabling partners to own the customer relationship.
