(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — German web hosting provider intergenia (www.intergenia.de) announced on Tuesday that it will hold its fifth annual WebhostingDay (www.webhostingday.com), the largest web hosting event in Europe, on March 18 to 20 at Phantasialand near Cologne, Germany.

Now grown to a three-day event, the conference has continued to increase from year to year.

The number of partner companies contributing to WebhostingDay, both as exhibitors and presentations, have grown from 40 in the previous year to more than 50 in 2009.

Among the companies are Microsoft, Intel, AMD, Parallels, interxion, HP and Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

With the current status of visitor registrations, intergenia says that there will be a new record for attendance as well.

More than 500 attendants were registered within the first three days after the online registration had gone live. Based on previous experience, the organizers are expecting over 1,200 visitors to attend.

“The response is really quite overwhelming and once again demonstrates that we entirely meet the hosting industry’s demand for a networking and innovation forum taking place in Europe,” says Thomas Strohe, director of intergenia. “The fact that visitors from all over the world register, and that the majority of them come from the CEO/CTO level, accounts for the event’s high significance.”

According to the press release, “top-class senior management experts from the most important hosting and telecommunication companies” present as speakers for main.FORUM, which takes place on two of the mornings.

Speakers will include Shannon Poulin, enterprise marketing director at Intel will discuss energy efficient servers, and Allen Clark, industry director worldwide software and services industry communications sector at Microsoft will discuss the importance of software-plus-services.

Additionally, Serguei Bellousov, Parallels chairman and CEO, will discuss cloud computing, and Jochen Polster, vice president of marketing EMEA at AMD, explains the advantages of Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors for cloud computing.
