(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Certification authority and security provider GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com) announced on Friday it has partnered with Internet service provider Inter.net (www.br.inter.net) to incorporate GlobalSign’s full range of security products into Inter.net’s existing solution portfolio.
The announcement follows GlobalSign’s news last month of its managed SSL service update to enable the immediate issuance of Extended Validation SSL certificates.
Reston, Virginia-based Inter.net has more than 10 years of experience as an Internet service provider. Over the years, the company has built a global customer base, including a growing number of customers located in Brazil and Panama.
Inter.net says it was seeking a well established international certification authority partner that could offer a comprehensive range of value-add security products to complement its existing product portfolio of managed hosting, software development and media agency services.
The company eventually decided to partner with GlobalSign, based on its trusted and future proof product range of digital certificates.
GlobalSign’s portfolio of SSL certificates, code signing certificates, personal digital ID’s and document signing services will complement Inter.net’s existing and new customers.
Inter.net will first promote GlobalSign solutions in its markets of Brazil and Panama. According to the press release, the SSL market in Brazil is the largest in South America with an annual growth rate of 14 percent.
The two companies expect the strategic partnership to achieve a 15 percent SSL market share in these countries by 2010.
