IntelePeer and CXO Global to Launch Hosted UC Solution

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Cloud-based communications infrastructure delivery provider IntelePeer (www.intelepeer.com) has partnered with WorkSpace Communications to deliver an easily deployable, hosted unified communications offering based on Microsoft Office Communications Server.

According to IntelePeer’s Monday announcement at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2010 in Washington, the new solution enables service providers to deploy hosted UC, SIP trunking and on-demand communications services almost instantly, without requiring extensive changes to related applications.

Unlike traditional public switched telephone network telephony, where physical wires are delivered by service providers to a business, a SIP trunk lets a company replace traditional fixed PSTN lines with PSTN connectivity via a SIP trunking service provider. SIP trunking lets enterprises make full use of their installed IP-Private Branch Exchange business telephone system (known as IP-PBX) and not only communicate over IP within the enterprise, but also outside the enterprise. SIP trunks can offer significant cost-savings for enterprises, eliminating the need for local PSTN gateways, costly ISDN Basic Rate Interfaces or Primary Rate Interfaces.

Able to be quickly deployed, IntelePeer’s hosted SIP trunks require no minimum commitments, eliminating up-front deployment risks and minimizing capital expenditures. Through its advanced network infrastructure, IntelePeer simplifies the communications process by delivering carrier-grade service over public or private IP connections, sparing customers from having to change their current data provider or existing communications equipment, eliminating the lengthy delays associated with most service providers.

“The IntelePeer Quick Start program is optimized for Microsoft OCS,” IntelePeer enterprise general manager Margaret Norton said in a statement. “We can turn around a hosted, Microsoft-certified SIP trunk as rapidly as five days, giving our partners and customers the agility they need for today’s dynamic market.”

The complete, turnkey solution stems from the combination of IntelePeer’s Quick Start SIP Trunking program, Voice Peering Network, and SuperRegistry, and WorkSpace Communications’ patent-pending Microsoft OCS environment, which interoperates with any previously installed Microsoft Exchange implementation.

WorkSpace Communications chief executive officer Bryan DiGiorgio said in a statement, “Our hosted environment makes it much easier and cost effective for service providers to offer Microsoft OCS-based, unified communications services, enabling them to extend their revenue stream and quickly meet growing customer demand.”
