Infonet and Interliant to provide managed messaging solutions

May 8, 2001 — Infonet Services Corporation (www.infonet.com), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, and Interliant Inc. (www.interliant.com), a leading global application service provider, announced on Tuesday that they had formed a partnership designed to offer Interliant?s INIT Managed Messaging solutions globally through the Lotus platform.

Infonet will immediately begin providing privately branded managed messaging services for Lotus Domino, in an attempt to capitalize on the company?s access to Global 1000 multinational enterprise clients.

According to Infonet, the partnership extends the company?s existing service offering by combining its global networking and application service capabilities with Interliant?s managed messaging and application hosting solutions expertise. The deal backs up the fully managed Lotus Domino environments with 24×7 availability, a guaranteed service level agreement and global in-country help desk support.

Analyst firms, such asThe Radicati Group, say the agreement is a strategic partnership that benefits both companies, both financially and through increased exposure to the market. In its report, Messaging Outsourcing Market Trends 2000-2004, The Radicati Group predicts that the messaging services market will reach a total of $6.63 billion by 2004, growing at approximately 38 percent each year.

According to Interliant, the managed messaging agreement with Infonet will allow the company to build application hosting capabilities that strengthen Infonet?s solutions, while working together to pursue additional application opportunities.
