(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Optical networks provider Infinera (www.infinera.com) announced on Monday it has named Dirk Corsus as vice president of systems engineering where the company says he will provide “further experience and leadership to the company’s systems engineering team.”
Corsus has more than 20 years of global experience in engineering and product development, with particular expertise in the fields of optical networking and telecommunications switching.
He has spent 23 years managing global engineering teams for both Alcatel and Alcatel Lucent, where he participated in many of the company’s optical, routing, and access product launches,
He has significant experience in designing and implementing carrier-class systems to meet the highest standards of service providers worldwide.
At Alcatel, Corsus served as vice president of engineering and product solutions for the fiber to the user group.
In this role, he led the development and launch of an Ethernet-centric access solution which soon grew into a market leading business with an extensive customer base of telecom companies.
“Dirk is a highly skilled engineering leader and he will help us accelerate our product development efforts, in our current segments and new ones,” says Infinera CEO Jagdeep Singh.
The company’s Infinera DTN is the first optical system based on large-scale photonic integrated circuits, combining high-capacity DWDM transport, integrated digital bandwidth management, and GMPLS-powered service intelligence in a single platform.
Infinera recently began a European road trip with the Infinera Express, a mobile demonstration bus equipped with Infinera networking systems to demonstrate to potential clients.
