(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider INetU Managed Hosting (www.inetu.com) announced on Wednesday it has joined the Payment Card Iindustry Security Standards Council (www.pcisecuritystandards.org) as a new participating organization.
INetU first gained PCI certification for its managed hosting in January.
As a participating organization, INetU will work with the council to help develop the PCI Data Security Standard and other payment card data protection standards.
The PCI DSS works to enhance payment account security by driving education and awareness of PCI security standards.
It is endorsed by many major credit cards, including American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa.
The standard requires merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to follow strict information security controls and processes that ensure data integrity.
INetU will now have access to the latest payment card security standards from the council, be able to provide feedback on the standards and join a community of more than 500 organizations.
“As a PCI certified hosting provider, we feel it’s important to share our expertise and experience in online security and voice the needs and challenges of our customers with the PCI Security Standards Council,” says Dev Chanchani, president of INetU Managed Hosting. “We are striving to make the Internet safe and secure, for e-retailers and shoppers alike. We will work with the council to ensure everyone benefits from the PCI standard in terms of privacy, safety and compliance as part of a comprehensive security solution.”
INetU provides high availability managed hosting for enterprise websites in the online retail, healthcare, financial services, SaaS, web development, education, government, consulting, and non-profit sectors.
