September 15, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — iNET Interactive, a Web portal firm led by former Communitech.NET co-founder and president Gabriel Murphy, said today it had purchased Pay-Per-Click hosting directory ISPCheck (ispcheck.com) and Yaxay.com (yaxay.com), a Web design community.
The announcement was made only one business day after the firm said it had purchased webhostingtalk.com, a popular Web hosting discussion community, from Texas-based Everyones Internet, parent firm of discount dedicated server firm RackShack. iNET’s other major sites include Hotscripts.com, a popular programming resource destination.
ISPCheck was founded in December of 1997 and maintains listings for over 3,5000 firms. iNET said ISPCheck founder Isabel Wang would provide consulting services to the firm “for a short stint.”
Yaxay.com, which provides Web design information and artwork, has over 12,700 members and nearly 300,000 articles. iNET said the site is administered by Ursula Messick, who will continue as senior administrator.
iNET also said it concurrently closed on the acquisition of other 19 other domain names covering seven unique Web sites. While the company did not elaborate on what additional sites had been acquired, WHOIS data revealed that several domains previously owned by Everyones Internet, including hostingtech.com, webhostingradio.com and whnetwork.com, had been transferred to iNET.
“We’re gaining significant momentum, as entrepreneurs with qualified portals are more than ever interested in having their property become part of our network,” said Ryan Elledge, President of iNET Interactive.
