(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT giant IBM (www.ibm.com) announced on Thursday it has opened a new IBM Cloud Computing Competence Center in Ehningen, Germany.
Located in the same city as IBM’s largest data center in Europe, the new facility will host a range of technology platforms and optimized service delivery processes.
The facility will provide a wide range of cloud solutions and services to clients locally and internationally, says the company.
The center will also give customers access to IBM’s emerging line of standardized cloud services, which include IBM Smart Business Desktop Cloud, IBM Smart Business Desktop on the IBM Cloud and IBM Smart Business Development and Test on the IBM Cloud.
IBM says is also working with a range of business partners across cloud management, security, software development and testing support.
These partnerships will give clients the flexibility, scalability, enterprise-grade security and control for development and test on the IBM Cloud.
In March 2008, IBM opened its first European Cloud Computing Center in Dublin, focusing on client innovation and cloud research activities.
Since then, the company has opened several more Cloud Computing Centers around the world, including in Sao Paulo, Bangalore, Seoul, Hanoi, Toyko, Johannesburg, and Beijing.
