March 17, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Linux distributor Novell (novell.com) and IBM (ibm.com) said on Wednesday that they will help software vendors certify and adopt new applications based on Novell’s SUSE LINUX on IBM eServer and middleware platforms. The companies say the initiative will enable software vendors to port new applications to SUSE LINUX more quickly and cost effectively, giving customers running Linux-based applications more choices.
According to the initiative, Novell will provide software vendors with copies of SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server and facilitate registration for its partner program to help them certify on SUSE LINUX. IBM will offer software vendors consulting support and technical expertise to help them migrate, develop and implement their applications for SUSE LINUX on IBM platforms. The services will be available through IBM Innovation Centers around the world.
