ProfitBricks is opening a new office in San Antonio, Texas, the IaaS company announced on Wednesday.  The San Antonio office provides access to the areas talent pool, as well as providing space for its growing teams.

Founded in 2009 in Berlin and Cambridge, Massachusetts, ProfitBricks launched “second generation” cloud services in the US in July 2012.  The company began hiring employees for its Cambridge office that year, and by the end of 2013 had a US-based staff of 30, according to Xconomy, with more than twice as many in Germany.

“ProfitBricks is growing rapidly with our innovative platform, which includes the industry’s only 80Gbps network connections via InfiniBand, and a simple pricing and packaging model which ensures that clients don’t overbuy or under-buy their cloud resources,” ProfitBricks USA COO Axel Herr said.

The new office is located at the La Cantera center. The company will show off the space on Sept. 18 with an open house and launch party.

After a series of announcements in 2013, capped by a round of aggressive price cuts in July, ProfitBricks has been growing more quietly in 2014.

Herr says that San Antonio is “rapidly being recognized as a center for leading Internet technologies.”  San Antonio recently welcomed WordPress hosting provider WP Engine to a new office, and is also the home base of ProfitBricks competitor Rackspace.
