Created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the SAS 70 audit helps Codero assure customers of their internal control practices.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Following a detailed, independent assessment of internal controls for company-wide policies and procedures, Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider Codero (www.codero.com) has successfully completed its latest Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (known as SAS 70) audit Type II.
Used around the world for evaluating information security processes and control procedures, SAS 70 was created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (www.aicpa.org) and has been in place since 1992. The latest audit enables Codero to assure customers of their transparency in the security of its internal system of controls.
Prior to earning the Type II, Codero completed its first SAS 70 Type I audit in March, which evaluated the state of its control environment and effectiveness in meeting control objectives for that point in time.
SAS 70 Type II certification is essentially an in-depth follow-up to Type I, verifying and validating that a company is actually adhering to the procedures outlined in Type I over a course of time, and that they are operating effectively.
An independent audit has confirmed that Codero data center and corporate-wide operations comply with industry-best practice standards, and validates that it protects customer data. The company reports that Type II certification will now be conducted annually.
Web host Aplus.net (www.aplus.net) launched Codero last year as a business entity focused solely on providing dedicated and managed hosting services to small and medium-sized businesses. It now offers IaaS solutions that provide flexible, scalable hosting infrastructures to address the needs of SMBs.
