January 26, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting and colocation provider Hurricane Electric (he.net) announced on Tuesday that it has added a new service feature that enables hosting customers to track and seed files via the BitTorrent (bittorrent.com), file transferring protocol.
Hurricane Electric says it is one of the first Web hosting companies to offer BitTorrent with its hosting offerings. The service is currently in a beta testing phase.
