Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

August 2, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Technical service provider Hurricane Electric (HE.com) announced on Thursday that it has partnered with Internet exchange service provider Equinix (Equinix.com), in order to add an Internet exchange point in the Washington DC area to its growing network.

The network access point, says Hurricane Electric, will create additional redundancy to the company?s national network, while creating shorter packet routes to numerous networks.

Hurricane Electric says it is connected to the Equinix exchange point located in Ashburn, VA, using a Cisco GSR router, as well as a GigE connection from Equinix to Telehouse in New York and an OC3 connection from Equinix to PAIX in Palo Alto, CA to eliminate any single point of failure.

By connecting to Equinix in the Washington DC area, Hurricane Electric says it has the ability to peer with over 60 other carriers located at the exchange. The company currently peers with several hundred networks, institutions and companies.
