May 2, 2002 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Hurricane Electric (He.net), a Web hosting firm that specializes in co-location, dedicated servers and direct Internet connections, has added a new fiber connection to its Californian data facilities.

UFO Communications, Inc., a provider of metropolitan optical networks, will supply Hurricane Electric with single mode fiber into its facilities as gigabit Ethernet.

"We are taking additional steps to ensure that all of our customer's data reach their destination all of the time," said Mike Leber, president of Hurricane Electric. "By adding another fiber connection to our facilities, we are adding to the security that our customers have come to rely on when they use our services."
