July 30, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — E-commerce outsource provider Digital River (DigitalRiver.com) announced on Tuesday that tax services and financial advice company H&R Block Inc. (HRBlock.com) has extended by two years a contract with Digital River for the support of online sales of its TaxCut software.
According to the agreement, Digital River will continue to host and manage H&R Block?s online TaxCut software sales at TaxCut.com (taxcut.com), providing transaction management, electronic software delivery, customer service, fraud prevention and e-marketing services. Digital River has supported the growing online sale of H&R Block?s TaxCut software since 1999.
“Digital River is excited about the opportunity to work with Block for two more years,” says Jay Kerutis, Digital River’s president of Software and Digital Commerce Services. “Block’s online software sales operations take full advantage of our key offerings. The scalability and reliability of our world-class e-commerce infrastructure have consistently maintained Block’s site during tax season, its peak traffic time of the year.”
Visitors to H&R Block Web sites, says Digital River, can purchase TaxCut, along with a variety of other products. Digitial River supports the Web-based sales with multiple e-marketing programs, including the cross-selling of state with federal tax products.
