Hostway Offers Dedicated Firewalls

June 13, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Hostway (hostway.com) announced on Friday it is now offering dedicated server customers the added protection of Cisco’s ASA 5500 series managed firewalls for networks of all sizes.

To promote the new firewall launch, Hostway is offering a 10 percent discount off the monthly price for the life of the account as well as waive the setup fee on orders placed before June 30.  ”We’re offering Cisco’s ASA 5500 line of firewalls to protect our customers from the revenue loss and liabilities of server attacks because they provide superior resiliency and scalability for growing businesses,” says John Martis, Hostway’s VP of hosting services. “Hostway’s managed firewall solutions add a solid layer of protection by analyzing all incoming and outgoing traffic to detect and block security threats before they impact the business.” Cisco ASA 5500 Series firewall editions include firewall technology, trusted services to secure modern network environments, flexible policies that block unauthorized access to network resources, easy deployment and day-to-day management features and enterprise-class resiliency and scalability options.

Hostway’s managed services include initial configuration, rule and policy setting, maintenance, backup services and more for the Cisco ASA 5505, 5505 Security Plus and 5510 firewall models. All solutions are completely customizable and can be deployed with mobile virtual private network clients.

The company has a worldwide network of data centers and more than 600,000 customers. Hostway offers a full line of fully managed Advantage server plans, Truflex and Truflex-S dedicated servers as well as colocation services and a complete range of add-on solutions. Hostway says it provides domain name registration, Web hosting and e-commerce, colocation, managed dedicated hosting, SaaS hosting, Web design and online marketing services to more than 600,000 customers and over two million websites worldwide.

Earlier this month, Iceland-based game developer CCP virtualized its London data center with Cisco data center virtualization technology.

In January, Hostway partnered with public relations software developer Vocus to launch press release distribution service, AffinityWire.
