November 24, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hostway (hostway.com) launched DomainsForYourPet.com (domainsforyourpet.com) last Friday, a new online service that allows Web hosting customers to register a domain name for their pets.

According to the Chicago-based company, for $6.95 customers get full ownership of a domain name, a free “under construction” Web page and access to an online control panel for managing the Web site.

“We know how passionate people are about their pets, so we think it’s a good idea to have a customized Web site for showcasing your pet to friends and family,” said John Lee, director of marketing for Hostway. “This is another example of the trend we see in which everyone eventually will have a personal Web site to use as the basic platform for communication. Getting to that point requires an easy, low-cost way of registering an Internet domain name. We’re pleased to provide that part of the solution, as well as a variety of value-packed Web-hosting plans.”

The company said an additional $12.95 gives customers access to Hostway’s InstantSite service that allows customers to build a customized Web site.”
