(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Hostway (www.hostway.com) announced on Tuesday it has joined the Microsoft BizSpark (www.microsoft.com/BizSpark) program as a network partner.
Launched in November, the Microsoft BizSpark program is a global business accelerator program designed to help entrepreneurs and startups succeed by connecting them to network partners.
Several other web hosts have already joined the program, including Tenzing Managed IT Services, Go Daddy, and PEER 1.
The program lets start ups receive nearly free software to run on the advanced server solutions they lease from Hostway.
“We’re pleased to have been recognized by Microsoft for our abilities and experience in supporting emerging technology companies,” says Todd Benjamin, director of enterprise hosting at Hostway. “BizSpark is an innovative program that enables us to add additional value to the network and hosted server products we already offer to these organizations.”
Hostway says it will promote the BizSpark program on its new startup portal, available on Hostway’s website.
The company will continue to add new resources and products to the start up portal in an effort to help these companies achieve an online presence.
As a BizSpark partner, Hostway can now offer startups fast and easy access to Microsoft’s current full-featured development tools, platform technologies as well as production licenses to bring to market innovative solutions for new users.
Hostway has also created new packaged solutions for its startup customers in order to simplify ordering and deployment of a turnkey enterprise class online presence.
In order to join the Microsoft BizSpark program startups must be actively engaged in development of a software-based product or service that is largely integrated into their business model, have been in business less than three years, and have less than $1 million in revenue.
To enroll in the program, startups can get a sponsorship from a designated BizSpark Network Partner.
