July 16, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hostopia (hostopia.com) announced Tuesday the release of new advanced Windows services hosting plans that support both ASP.net and ColdFusion MX.
Microsoft platform developers use ASP.net?s framework to run advanced applications.
ColdFusion MX is Macromedia?s latest scripting environment.
“Hostopia partners are smart because they value Web hosting sales over platform comparisons,” said Franc Nemanic, president of Hostopia. “Microsoft-based hosting is grabbing more than 30 percent of the hosting market and our partners expect a full share of that business. Our new plans put them in front as Windows-supportive hosting services.”
Hostopia?s version of Windows hosting enables users to choose between Macromedia?s ColdFusion 5.0 and Cold Fusion MX within the same hosting plan.
“Our development community research confirmed that some users are not ready to migrate to the latest ColdFusion tools, while others are,” said Nemanic. “So we built our hosting plans to give them the choice rather than force wholesale site migration to the new version with potential compatibility issues.”
Hostopia operates its Windows-based services on RAID 4 Windows clusters.
