Managed cloud hosting provider HOSTING announced last week it has named Matt Ferrari the company’s new chief technology officer.

The move comes a month after HOSTING dropped the “dotcom” from its name, and launched a new logo and branding in order to reinforce its focus on the midsize enterprise market.

In his new position as CTO of HOSTING, Ferrari will take charge of strategic technology development for HOSTING’s products and services.

Ferrari is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and release management organizations within HOSTING. He oversees all new product development, back office, and product line enhancements.

“Matt’s leadership skills and innovative vision is the perfect catalyst to advance our expansion as a provider of managed cloud technologies and services,” said Art Zeile, CEO at HOSTING. “He is a well-recognized expert who fundamentally understands the critical business challenges technology must rise to.”

Since joining HOSTING in 2002, Ferrari has designed and built the company’s fast-growing line of products and services, along with leading multiple engineering teams.

Ferrari is also a frequent keynote speaker, having presented at several conferences including Executive Summits, EMCWorld, VMWorld, and Microsoft Hosting Summit.

He has established many strategic technology relationships for the provider and will continue to strengthen partnerships in his new role.

Prior to HOSTING, Ferrari designed and implemented new technologies and managed strategic projects for the Exelon Corporation.

In March 2012, HOSTING launched its enterprise backup  solution, providing local and remote backup from any location as well as enabling shorter backup windows and rapid recovery options.
