January 15, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Hosting.com (hosting.com) announced on Tuesday it has attained SAS 70 Type II certification for the second year in a row at its Irvine, California and Louisville, Kentucky locations. The Web host’s newest data center in San Francisco, California also became certified, making all three of Hosting.com’s primary data centers SAS 70 Type II compliant.
The Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a method of measuring and reporting the effectiveness of operations and controls of a service provider. Independent auditor Chilton & Medley conducted Hosting.com’s SAS 70 audit.
The SAS 70 auditing format enables Hosting.com to convey to customers it has met the industry-accepted internal operations and security precautions, complete with Chilton & Medley’s stringent testing and assessment of each of the controls.
By attaining SAS 70 Type II certification, Hosting.com can assure customers that each of its primary data centers offer the same quality standard of operation, security and ethics.
