Hosted Solutions' Rich Lee Wins Entrepreneur Award

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — “Infrastructure as a Service” provider Hosted Solutions (www.hostedsolutions.com) founder and chief executive officer Rich Lee was named Carolinas region “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young (www.ey.com) after resurrecting a bankrupt data center back in 2001 and turning it into an industry-leading organization with five data centers along the East Coast, serving more than 800 customers.

In its 23rd year, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 awards recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Lee was selected by a panel of independent judges, who reviewed nearly 75 nominations.

“I’m honored to be recognized with this award,” Lee said in a statement. “I take tremendous pride in what we’ve built at Hosted Solutions over the last eight years. I’m surrounded by an incredible team of very talented individuals that have made this possible for me. Customers come to Hosted Solutions because of our great people. We deliver some of the most innovative solutions in the market because of our people. I’m humbled to be part of such a strong organization.”

Having been acquired by ABRY Partners in 2008 for $144 million, Hosted Solutions has continued to grow substantially, adding several new customers and investing $20 million in facility enhancements, expanding its data centers in Raleigh and Boston. Earlier this month, the company introduced its enterprise-ready cloud solution, “Stratus Trusted Cloud.”

Since beginning almost a quarter century ago, the Ernst & Young awards program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 135 cities in 50 countries. Lee is now eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur of the Year national program. The overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 14, 2009.
