HostDime has launched operations at its new Tier III data center in João Pessoa, Brazil to grow the company’s managed hosting services in the northeast of the country.

The 50 million Brazilian Real ($15 million USD) data center is HostDime’s second in the region and third in the country, and is designed to offer latency of ten milliseconds or less. This allows it to host critical systems and serve corporate applications such as ERPs, as well as streaming content.

The new João Pessoa data center is the second Uptime Institute-certified Tier III facility in the region, according to the announcement, and enables HostDime to offer a dual-fiber optic ring through a partnership with local telecommunications company Tely.

“Our data center has been certified, as well as the optic fiber network that interconnects the Northeast states,” HostDime Brazil CEO Filipe Mendes said in a statement. “This allows us to answer all the IT infrastructure needs of businesses that are looking for quality and security in data hosting and connectivity. Forty percent of the capacity of this new data centre has already been allocated and the forecast is to reach maximum occupancy in mid 2018.”

HostDime described its plans for major international expansion in 2014, and has been steadily adding locations since.
